Pleasant and easy to talk to. No reason to dial an out-of-state 800 number -- State Farm is a highly rated national company and having someone local to talk to really helps. I combined a Homeowner's policy with vehicle coverage, and an Umbrella for additional liability protection."

"We got transferred to Jake Squires when our agent retired. I've never actually talked to Jake but we've been very disappointed with the service. It's very hard to get in touch with anyone there either by phone or email. Our past experience was that the staff would help you get the best rates with mulit-line discounts, telemetrics, etc. However, Jake's staff needs to be handheld, and don't follow up with changes we talk about. In addition, they made me an insurance quote over the phone that never got put through. We also made a change of address over 20 days ago, and we are still receiving mail at the old address. Definitely don't recommend."

"I came to the realization that I needed to secure a life insurance policy, as it was the responsible thing to do for my family. Not knowing anything about life insurance and what all the terminology was I decided to contact a reputable name and company in the industry. I was so lucky to come across the desk of Stephanie at Jake Squire's office. She listened to what I was thinking I needed and was able to schedule a consultation to go over all my options. Again, not knowing any of the terminology or lingo of life insurance, this was a bit intimidating for me. Stephanie went through the best options with me and was able to provide instant quotes for the options provided as we fine tuned what it was that would best suite our needs. She had a process and was so informative in the process explaining all the options and potential benefits for the different options as well as potential hang-up that might come with a policy given my personal circumstances. She provided choices for payment plans and what steps would come next after we decided the specific policy for my needs. I can't thank her enough for the time, knowledge and guidance she provided during this process. As a professional in customer service it is so appreciated to receive the quality of care Stephanie provided. A big thank you to her and Jake for everything they have done for my family."

"I was automatically transferred to Jake Squires office when my original agent retired. Since I was planning on moving out of state, I wasn't too concerned, so I went to his office to add a cargo trailer snd a bus to my policy. During the visit, Elise was given all the information for the trailer and the bus. She processed the trailer first and stated that it was covered under a "rider" and she then moved on to the bus. I was then told that the bus could not be written by State Farm, and I left the office with the impression that I had at least obtained coverage for the trailer. During my move the trailer sustained some damage, and it was only when I inquired about a claim that Elise advised me that there was no coverage. She then claimed that she had never used the term rider and that she never implied I was covered because she had no record of the trailer. I attempted to seek resolution with Jake Squires through email and I have been told that there's nothing he could do for me. Due to the misleading and dishonest statements from Elise, I now have to cover the damage myself. If you're looking for an honest insurance agent, I'd look elsewhere. I was a State Farm customer for over 10 years with the other agent, and never had an issue with adding or deleting items from my policy, but with this office there was nothing but dishonesty and mistakes."

"I have been a customer of State Farm for over 18 years. My mom has been a customer for over 50 years. I transferred to Jake Squires' office when I moved to Bellingham in 2019. In 2021 my mom and I co-purchased a brand new manufactured home. I called State Farm to add homeowner's insurance and someone at the Jake Squires location told me that State Farm did not provide coverage for manufactured homes. It did not make sense to me since my mom's manufactured home is also covered by State Farm with a different agent. State Farm referred me to Rice insurance. Then in 2022, I received a text to call State Farm. Jake Squires' office asked if I had considered switching to have them cover my manufactured home! I could have bundled with them and saved hundred of dollars if an employee at the office had told me the correct information to begin with! I was getting married and came down with Covid and postponed switching to them. When I reached out months later, someone answered the phone and said they were having computer problems and would call me right back. A week later and no call back. I completed a form through my online State Farm account to request more information about Homeowner's insurance from their office. Again, no response a week later. I was ready to transfer to another agent when my mom called. I finally received an email about the transfer. I made the switch and then on the first bill, there was a surprise transfer and pro-rated fee. This was never explained to me and I had to reach out to State Farm to get a clarification of why the bill was higher than I was quoted. Shortly after transferring, I received a notice in the mail that the agent had misquoted me on the homeowner's policy and it was actually a higher premium! Jake Squires' office has just been a huge confusing mess with poor communication. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because I have not had this experience at other State Farm agencies and because Elise is at least responding within 24 hours at this point. I'm hoping they can all get on the same page and improve their customer service."
